I'm having trouble deciding what I want the painter to paint on my walls. It has to be something I'll love to wake up to and see every morning and the last thing I see at night. I'm thinking of painting the walls [background] bright yellow, then some New York building with taxis and people rushing down the street?.. I've always liked that look [I'm 14, I live in California, only seen the New York scenes in movies] but I don't have the exact picture I want yet.
Any suggestion or ideas for what i can paint on my walls??????? [picture would be GREAT!:)]
Or what would YOU personally have painted?

My roof has some areas that are bubbling in certain places where a certain area I can feel by stepping there is air or something under the shingles and is real soft. Does anyone know what my roof is trying to tell me? Thanks

I just purchased a new house and the original woodwork is a very dark wood. It is kinda a mix between mahogany and cherry. I am trying to figure out what color of paint would look the best on the walls. If you have any advice let me know. Thanks!!:)

I have a room, (about the size of a living room) that is painted a dark green. It is boring looking, so I want to use a faux technique to the roof. What color can I add to the existing dark green color that will look good?

I will be painting my grandmother's living room soon. She has old fake wood paneling that is textured, with "grain" and grooves between. I have already primed and will be painting with latex paint. However, due to the texture, should I use satin or semi-gloss finish? There are no imperfections and wall panel is in good shape. Is it better to use semigloss for the light reflection or will that make the texture stand out too much. I am not looking to hide the texture, but don't want wall to be too dull.

Any suggestions?

We are moving into our house which has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, Kitchen, and an extra room (not a bedroom). The extra room is what you enter into if you take the backdoor. I could use it for a dinning room, but it's really big and would need something extra to make it look complete. Any suggestions?

I've been working with candles for 15 years now but just in this last 2 I've been working more with soy wax. The problem I have been facing is that the color fads. I'll make the candles and store in a cool dark area and when I take them out 3-6 months latter the color has faded from both end going darker in the middle. Any help would be great thanks. Also a side note* I'm trying to go as natural as i can so I have not used any additive other then the dyes themselves these candle with the coloring are not sented as well.

I live in Ohio, if it matters.

My fiance and i are moving here in a few months and we're getting rid of all our hand-me-downs from when we moved in with each other 3 years ago.

We're a young couple and we don't want to shell out too much money.

We're looking for:
End Tables for $90 MAX!
Entertainment Centers $200 MAX!
Kitchen Tables $100-200 MAX!
A nice comfy couch!

What are some good store OR even websites to go to .. BESIDES wal mart .. unless you've bought something really sturdy from their dont put that down .. everything i buy from there falls apart!

THANX and best answers goes to best website/store. =)

I am thinking about putting down laminate floors down in my entire downstairs. This will include the great room, dining area, kitchen and half bath. I have read and been told that it is very durable but my concern is my dogs. I have an 85 lb dog who is generally pretty mellow and my son has a 40 lb terrier who is generally NOT very mello (high energy). I don't want to spend alot of money on something that will be ruined in a short period of time. Does anyone have experience with this situation?

Hi. My school is currently organising an event. I need to change the classroom colour from its present white to red. It has to be a temporary way of changing the colour.

No paints are allowed.
Are there anyway to use any lightings?
Our budget is around 30 USD.

The present lightings in the classrooms are white fluorescent tubes. There are mirrors on each side of the tube. Two tubes are fitted together and there are around 12 of these fitted in the celings of the class.

My husband and I are fixing up a old farm house.....I'm not really sure what color or colors I should paint my kitchen. I need some advice...I don't want to go to dark or to bright but I do want a change. The walls are a light mint green color and the cupboards are white right now. It needs to be updated, but I'm not sure what colors to use.

I am moving into an apartment. My furniture is a mocha color. The walls are a light blue and in good shape. I'm trying to move in fast and quick and wait to do majority of the painting until I have time in a couple of months. Should I be embarrassed because the colors don't really go??? Any suggestions of what I can do to make it go together a bit better?

We are moving into a house that has old appliances e.g. dishwasher, stand alone range, and fridge. We are going to install Brazilian Cherry hardwood flooring and wonder if this should be installed before or after we buy the new appliances?
If we need to do install floors first, who can I call to un-install the old appliances and haul them away? THanks!

I'm redecorating my home office as a surprise for my fiance for when he gets back home next month...I am trying to make it more of a "manly" type of office. He is a huge football fan, so I have already bought 4 autographed helmets, 4 autographed jerseys, and two autographed footballs and the display cases for all of them. The helmets will go on a new bookcase but there will still be a lot of room on it not taken...and the jerseys and footballs will be mounted onto the walls...What are some other ideas to make a "manly" office?

They don't have to be sports related because I don't want the entire room full of football stuff because then it will become tacky...
