I have a room, (about the size of a living room) that is painted a dark green. It is boring looking, so I want to use a faux technique to the roof. What color can I add to the existing dark green color that will look good?

I used a jade green... it looks cool in my kitchen. BUT it is only the upper half of the walls... the bottom is white

When I do my faux finishing I sometimes use two shades lighter and two shades darker (depending on how dark the base is). Or you could use a metallic gold. In my living room I did a taupe on my walls and then a milk chocolate faux with a sea sponge. Then I went over it again with the sea sponge, very lightly with a metallic gold. When the light hits the metallic gold, it highlights it. Just don't overdo the metallic. I think it would probably work for you on your ceiling. Do a lighter green first and then highlight areas with the metallic gold, maybe an antique gold.
