I have a relatively small kitchen with a wine/grapes/ Tuscan theme that has some tans and subtle purples. My floor and countertops are a reddish brown Mexican tile. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I am in the process of decorating my bedroom. The floor is walnut colored hardwood. My furniture is a dark espresso color and my comforter set is primarily brown with pale blue lines.

My question is: What color paint should I consider for the wall? Darker or a lighter brown/beige-ish color.

Also, what would be a more contemporary look 1) The walls and ceiling all the same color or 2) Different ceiling and wall colors? If I went with option 2, should i make the window sills the same color as the ceiling for added contrast?

The walls are a very light blue. The previous owner actually used white paint and mixed very light (lighter than Carolina Blue) blue to get this color. The bookcase is black and the entertainment armoir is very dark brown/almost black like ebony color. There's one chair already in the den and it's a brown "papa-san," chair with a deep red/ magenta cushion. The floors are light colored bamboo hard wood. What color love seat or sofa could fit this scheme?

I have a ceramic tiled shower and floor that are the typical 70's olive green color. I removed the dated wallpaper, but have no idea what color to paint the room. It's a tiny room so I am afraid if I go with a dark color, it will feel like a cave. I had also thought about an eggplant purple, but then I don't know what to do with the trim. Help!

Is it considered a waste of money or not attractive? I'm thinking it would save on the consumption of water and would be very convenient.

We have a chandelier in our home which has glass shades/bowls and I want to make it a little contemporary by putting shades. I can't sit the shades directly on the convex shaped bulbs, can I?

Mine just exploded to the point of non-repair. I think it had a crack in it already, but I don't know. Lots of water poured out, and . . . well, I just need a new one. So generally how much does one white standard porcelien toilet cost???

im moving into a new house pretty soon. and well ya know my last house was rented out so it meant no painting the walls and now that we own our house i want to paint. MY FAVORITE COLOR IS PINK. and thats what i want my walls to be but..i dont kno what color pink. if i should go with a lighter pink so im not blinded everytime i walk in or if i should go with the bright pink. i also have a pink furry bedspread **kinda in the middle of being bright and light pink** that im not getting rid of so i will be using it again. what can i do to make sure my room is more than just PINK. i would love for some ideas, links to things you suggest, and just anything that you think could help me. i dont' have a budget really but try to find the cheapest thing but make sure it still looks nice.I'm also 15 so nothing too little girlish. and also no zebra b/c a girl i kno already has her room in pink and zebra wouldn't want to be copying her. =]

light comes in thru those 1/4 to 1/2 inch gaps. What can I do to keep the light from coming in thru the edges?

The blinds installer told me that they always leave 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch gap to ensure that the blinds do not rub up against the walls when they are raised and lowered.

I was thinking about buying some window tint and putting it around the border of my window to keep the light out...

Any thoughts?

My room is cluttered (I say room because that's the only part of the house that is all mine...I share the rest with 4 roommates). Not that I'm messy, I just have a lot of stuff that I can't get rid of (well, I don't want to get rid of it...a lot of it has sentimental value). I have a TON of books and no place to put them. I was looking at bookcases, but I can't afford one. So, any alternatives you can think of? The help is much appreciated...

If you need to know anything about my room or anything, just ask and I'll post the answer. Thanks!
