The best product for removing stains on walls is TSP. You'll find this at your local hardware store.
Use the liquid TSP and not the powder. The powder is harder to mix, is toxic and will need to be rinsed off after. The liquid is the way to go.
Wash the walls with the mixture. The nicotine will disappear.
Oh... someone said here to paint over them. DON'T DO IT! The nicotine stains will come right out thru the new paint. You must remove nicotine stains before painting.

how fun for you! I would use dish soap and water with a cup of bleach. Do the best you can as smoke ruins houses almost beyond fixing. I have my own cleaning service and I will not clean houses that are contaminated by smoke. I always tell the customers to rip out all carpet and draperies. Then the walls must be sprayed with bleach allowed to dry and then painted several times to cover the staining of smoke. All else fails go to a quality paint store for advice on the right paint to cover the smell and staining.

Walls – Wash the walls, baseboards, ceilings and doors once or twice a year with water, baking soda and vinegar. You'll notice that the smoke stains get darker as the smoke travels up the wall, eventually landing on the ceiling. Pay special attention to corners and crevices. http://www.essortment.com/home/cigarettesmoke_sdfs.htm Good luck...best thing is to not smoke in the house after you get it clean. NOBODY smokes in my house. Not even my spouse!

Nicotine is one of the worst things to try to clean up. I would use a strong solution of Lysol- and I would have to be prepared to change the water several times.
After that dries, you may wish to prime it with Kilz, then repaint the room.
