I want to redesign my room-mostly to make it look more 'old fashioned'(like Victorian, or an old country style-kinda like the style of the house in 'Practical Magic')and simple. The thing is, my room is 7 feet wide by 11-and I just can't think of a thing to do with this size a space! Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I bought a house (very cheaply) that has had several renos done on it--windows removed and boarded up and doors removed and boarded up. The vinyl siding is dirty and full of large and small holes.

What I want to do is remove all the siding and put up some stucco. Any opinions or pointers would be appreciated!

We have recently added on to it and the wood doesn't match. I like the way the wood looks when its wet. Would I get that look with clear or do I use a color? I'm also not sure how to apply it. I have a small sprayer would that be better than using a brush? When is the best time to apply the stain. And how do you prep the wood to get the best end result. Thank You!

I have this rare huge Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban vinyl movie banner and it was sitting in my room folded for a few months and I unfolded it to sell on ebay, but it has a few creeses [sp] and wrinkles in the middle. Is there ANYTHING I could do to restore it a little? Thanks!

I know kitchens and bathrooms are the best places to put your money, however I am on a budget and the place just needs some upgrades because it is in good shape. Some things are a bit outdated like light fixtures and such. How much of an increase in value can I expect without doing a major remodeling?

My house was built in 1964. I have a pink kitchen.... well, to be more technical, the countertops and the backsplash are pink, the stove top is pink and the oven is pink. The walls are white with a chair railing. I want to do something that makes it look more appealing and unique, but my problem is what will go with pink..... any suggestions? We arent going to be replacing the stove, countertops, etc any time soon so it would have to be something that would go with the pink.

ok, so my bathroom tile is beige with dark brown accent trim at the top. ( it goes halfway up the wall) my tub/shower has been refinished and is bright bright white. yeah, it clashes. but anyway, right now, my walls are a warm terra cotta brown, which i like, just not in the bathroom. it's tiny tiny and the dark color just makes it feel smaller. nothing seems to go with anything else, and i'm getting tired of it. i'm really into the shabby chic all white bathroom look, but i can't afford to redo the bathroom right now. how can i spruch up this room!?

I painted three walls of my apartment. One of them has a floor lamp right in front of it and the color looks great, but on another wall there's not that much light. Since it's in the dining room I can't have a floor lamp because it would interfere with the chairs. Ideas?

I'd love to have someone come and decorate one of the rooms of my house. (My living/Dining room is what needs attnetion.) The problem is it has Cathedral ceilings which then open up onto a loft area, so it all has to tie together and I've got no clue, co I want David Bromsted of Color Splash to come and help out!! (Plus he's really cute doesn't hurt either!)

I have three little boys, aged 1 - 6. I'm getting ready to redecorate their bathroom (myself). What would be a cute theme or color scheme for them? They are young, and I originally was thinking along the lines of rubber duckies or frogs, but I think my oldest has already outgrown that, and I want this theme to last... I can't afford to redecorate very often. I like themes, so to just have a blue bathroom would be sort of boring. Any ideas? Something they'd enjoy now, and also grow into and not be embarassed of when 10 or 12 years old.

I have a 900 sq. ft apt and my living room is pretty tiny.. hardwood floors- light colored and then the framing at the bottome(the little trim) is not white, it is wood, matching the floor.. i was told not to paint a small room bc it would make the room seem even smaller, but would a beige look ok? any other colors?

I have a really pretty entertainment cabinet in my Family Room. Currently, I have 1 large pillar and 2 smaller candles on pillar holders. I also have 4 tealights. I used to have pictures towards the back. I am looking for decorating ideas to mix it up. I have had essentially the same decoration for the past few years. I get most creative around the holidays and am also looking for ideas for that time. Last year, I decided to treat it like a mantle, and hung stockings on the side of the cabinet. I also tried to weave a Christmas type of garland around the candles but just couldn't get it right. I could really use some ideas for everyday decorating and also for the holidays.
