I bought a house (very cheaply) that has had several renos done on it--windows removed and boarded up and doors removed and boarded up. The vinyl siding is dirty and full of large and small holes.

What I want to do is remove all the siding and put up some stucco. Any opinions or pointers would be appreciated!

Stucco will increase the value of the property over vinyl. On projects I have inspected I usually find vinyl siding used to hide defects or where the sun is too harsh for painted wood siding. When you get your estimate for the stucco, check to see what the contractors cost to you is for removal of the old vinyl siding. You might facilitate the removal of this to save some bucks.

i do no longer understand approximately brick, yet log siding shrinks and expands with the seasons, requiring properly-known re-caulking between the forums. All of that flow supplies you places for bugs to get under the floor. except that's anchored on securely, it needs to crack and buckle, too. that's difficult to maintain a end on log siding, extremely in case you prefer a sparkling look. Log siding appears super, even nevertheless that's notably flimsy stuff whilst in comparison with another siding cloth i will think of of alternative than possibly vinyl siding.
