We have old marble that has really yellowed and we can't afford to change it out or paint it. It has blueish hues in it and is like a creamy, yellowish, light orangy, whitish color swirled with some bluish/violetish colors.
We are having a problem picking out floor and wall color, and fixture style and color.
Any suggestions?

I really want to buy really comfortable sheets like in luxury hotels. Any thread count or brand which is well known? I also would rather have a blanket instead of a comforter? Is this odd? These "bed in a bag" items seem to have the most ridiculous colors, especially for a single guy. I want to get something which would not turn off a woman, something solid? I went to Bed Bath & Beyond and they had so many things it was confusing. FYI: I have a studio apartment where the bed will be seen by anyone coming into the apartment, if that matters. Any help would be welcome. Thanks!

I would put an access door direct to the outdoors (a rolling barn door) and close off access to the house. The basement is currently unfinished on one side and the garage is on the other side.

What do you think is more appealing? A wooden cabinet with a one piece vanity top for a sink that would double as storage or a pedestal sink made of porcelain and a piece of wooden bathroom furniture that would be the storage unit?

I am thinking about doing it myself. It is fairly new carpet. Would a professional cleaning be better? Can I do as good a job myself?

My house was extended when I bought it and has a raised patio for which there was planning permission. I want to erect a small conservatory (2m by 3.2m), so will I need to seek further planning permission to do this? I got conflicting advice from two different conservatory companies. Thanks.

I had a privacy fence built in May and now am looking at staining it. I planned to do it soon, but just spoke w/ someone that said the fence should wait an entire season before being stained b/c of the repellent nature of the chemicals in the wood. I certainly don't want to stain too soon if the stain won't stick.

Any one have experience or advice on this?

Thank you

Everything is oak
-25in total rise
-3 other steps (47in wide)
-47in opening
my top platform is going to curve (semi-circle) around 90deg on the same plane so the steps would run down next the the wall of the opening (opening is in the middle of a room)

How do i go about making/ or finding a curved wooden handrail to follow the profile of the top platform?

Im a metal worker so i know little on bending wood....Do they make metal handrails with wood grain that i could paint? :-)

Thanks
Jess

This is a pic of my ikea bed.

I desperately need to store my excess stuff like suitcases etc under the bed and outta sight.. But how do i raise my bed since its an odd shape with no legs., just these heavy boards.
I read on yahoo answers that cinder blocks work.. Do they really? Are they safe and sturdy raisers?
What kind do i need? How many do i need? Where do i buy them?

Haha, okay...well im redoing my bedroom as "the beach" and I need some major ideas. I'm a teen and most of the things i've seen have looked "too old". I was thinking of using a navy comforter that my grandma made. its beautiful. and painting the walls light blue? I'm not sure. I really like shells and the color blue and fish and things of that sort. I've been looking EVERYWHERE for items that would look nice in a Beach Themed bedroom for a teenager, but i can't find anything. If you have any ideas PLEASE let me know. Thank you! God Bless. <3
