For appliances, ApplianceSmart is great. They carry name brands at great prices. Some may be discontinued models, returns, or minor damage, at even better prices. I got a great Maytag fridge for hundreds less because it has a dent on the side that is next to my cupboard so you can't possibly see it. I had to decide quickly because my old fridge died and all my food was in my neighbors fridge. I power-shopped for 2 days and no one had better prices. My sister just got a washer and dryer there, after comparing, reading, researching, etc. for a couple months.
If no ApplicanceSmart by you, could also check out Best Buy for something to compare to Sears.

For furniture, I don't think you can beat IKEA for value. Target has very good quality for the money too.

I'm sure you are not wanting cheap appliances and furniture but rather the best price. If so do your homework and visit stores with appliances and compare product for your budget. Sears, Home Depot and Loews (many others as well) run regular promotions and special sales. The same with furniture. Wait to buy until you find the sales.

Sears is great for appliances. We built our home and that is where we went. Their kenmore brand is made by the same people as whirlpool but is specifically made for Sears. It is also cheaper than Whirlpool.

Sears is the best because they have a 12-month interest free credit. They also match prices for up to a month after you buy the product. So if you find it cheaper anywhere else for up to month you get cash back.

I really love going to Sears. They have great prices, no financing for 12 - 18 months, and free delivery most of the time. Look in the ads and you'll find deals for great brand names. Their Kenmore brand is just as reliable as May Tag or Whirlpool.
