I have a relatively small kitchen with a wine/grapes/ Tuscan theme that has some tans and subtle purples. My floor and countertops are a reddish brown Mexican tile. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would go for a nice goldenrod yellow. It will keep in theme with your Mediterrenean/Italian look. Stay clear of borders and wallpapers will make a small kitchen look even smaller. Think minimalist to increase the size of the room!

OmG Hun.
I know all about colors and I say choose a very light, Arotic kitchen color like a summer green or a hazelled blue. Never go for the dark colors or sensinal ones ! I'd also make sure that you have a wallpaper !

Good luck Sweetie =]

My floors are also reddish brown. My walls are egg shell white but i then thought it was still too what so i got some decorating bricks (look close to real) and placed them as my backsplash. The kitchen looks so much more together and the white no longer bothers me.

You've got a lot of dark colours there, so you need a light colour to off-set it all and stop the kitchen feeling small and oppressive.

I would use a white - but use an old white with a creamy tinge to it.

Try yellow or salmon colors. That would really pick up the feel of the room.

yellow.
yellow will set off the other colours you have in the room already.
Try and just keep it one colour, that way it wont look like a mish mosh of things thrown around.

white
Yeah, egg white, made with real egg whites, or sweet corn, but using real frozen sweet corn. It will give it some texture. You could use the egg whites first and sling the corn on it and that way it will stick ;)
