I remember an ad on TV years ago about a gel paint that wouldn't drip, and it seemed really smart because painting is SO messy

He's 3 about 35lbs now, not sure if that matters, so just a little guy. Plan to use though for maybe 10 years. Looking for a "good" brand and wondering whats a typical price on a mattress and box spring. See them advertised all across the board. We'd like a full since we'd sit on it too to read books at night, and have plenty of space in the room.

I am thinking of purchasing this bed frame from Ikea.com. However, i see there is a reference to a 'slatted bed base' and mattress, which are not included.
All that Ikea has for sale is foam mattresses.
My question is..
can i just use any regular queen size mattress to go w/ bed frame? or do i have to purchase a specific type (i.e, the ones Ikea sells)

Here's a link to the bed:

What is the appropriate way to put toilet paper on the roll in the bathroom? Should it go over the top or underneath?

I am renovating my bathroom and doing most of the work myself apart from the electrics as I am not qualified and a tad scarred...My electrician is lovely but has strange ideas.
He tells me that 4 downlights are okay for a 6 sq meter ceiling. I am dubious - would at least double that.
What are the thumb rules?
Is there a book/website explaining how many lights would be best?
How would it be best to place them?
So may questions...
Any help would be appreciated.

I went to the EPA website about getting my house tested for lead because I am about to do some remodeling, but it didn't give me any information for my state (PA). I have no idea where there nearest risk acessor or whatever they call them, is to have them be able to come and test. Also, how much does it cost?

I know this is a weird question, but our school got a new trailer for our marching band gear this year, and we've never had one before.
My conductor's been looking all over for the best way to organize it (shelves, racks, uniform storage, etc.), but hasn't come up with anything.
I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this sort of thing or has good ideas?

We pulled up a rug in our living room that has good solid wood underneath. Unfortunately, the previous owner stapled the foam carpet pad into the wood, and they are nearly impossible to remove without damaging the wood. Any suggestions?

Okay, my husband and I just bought our first home. The kitchen cabinets are nice, but not exactly what I want. To save money we are just going to use them for now and try to replace them when we have more cash. Anyway over the stove there is a range hood, but the tube goes straight up and there is not cabinet or anything hiding it. All you see is a silver tube running to the ceiling. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem so you can't see this tacky silver tube.

No I can't just put a cabinet over it, because my cabinets do not go all the way to the ceiling.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

After 6 years, I decided to change my living room around. Horror! My carpet has got 4 huge indents in it, made from coffee table. Will I ever be able to use it again in a different place? How can I get rid of the indents?

I just ripped up carpet and plan to put down laminate - can I just use the carpet padding underneath the laminate? Or is there more laminate-appropriate padding I must use? Thanks!

We need to redo our kitchen floor b/c the nails are starting to show through. (and the stuff that we have shows every piece of dirt that's possibley on it too). I was told that if we were to do linoleum again that we'd also need to do a new subfloor as well. I was also told though that if we were to do the pergo (wood) floor, we could go right over the exisiting floor and not have to worry about the subfloor at all. Is there a linolium floor out there with the same concept.....where we could go right over the existing and not have to redo the subfloor? How hard is putting in a new subfloor? Thanks!
