Mine is chrome. I have a white radiator on the opposite wall, they don't clash in any way and the chrome towel rail seems to work well with the mirrors.

Chrome is much more durable, white enamel will eventually discolour and get chipped. If you are talking about an electrically heated rail (Dimplex) the chrome models are cheaper to run due to a lower wattage element, as they radiate the heat more effectively than the enamel versions.

I think it depends on what colour the bathroom is. And how prominent you want it to be. Chrome is very modern and it will stand out. White is a little more discreet.

I'm sure either would look good.

You havent told what colour the bathroom is. Chrome gives a modern and glamourous look. Good to make the room where you spent the most important part of your life, attractive. Gives you creativity. Ha ha ha.
