I can't remember what programme i saw it on, but I'm sure they said to white wash the frame to age it.

Van Dyke's Restorers has a finish you can apply different ways to get different antique finishes for mirrors. I haven't tried it yet, but it seemed interesting. Go to vandykes.com

Do you mean the frame or the silvering?
I seem to recall years ago on "Changing Rooms" LLB splashing Nitromors about on the reverse side of a mirror to remove the silvering & "age" it.
The frame you could probably 'do' with dark wax and fine sandpaper

Throw a brick at it? :o)
To be honest I don't think you can because modern mirrors are produced by a completely different process, so don't look the same when they're "worn".

It depends on how you want it to look.
some people use tea bags and then varnish.
if it is paingted you can use cracklin glaze.
or paint remover

Tinted spray-on shallec would give it that aged look.
