I need to have a bed in my basement - but there is a stair way and the full matress will make the turn - but the box spring won't - I am hoping to make a simple plat form - I do have a metal bed frame, can I just add slats or a platform around it? I need to be able to do this by myself.

I have 2 cabinet door panels, that are a hair to big for the door opening. I have already done some hinge adjustments but still to tight. I only need to take off about a 32nd. to a 16th. for a nice fit. I would rather sand that smidge off , but I want it even. Has anyone ever tried to make a backing pad for sanding that will fit on a table saw? If so what kind of material did you use. I was wondering about a 1/4 " x 8" plate made out of that real hard pressboard. Cutting , centering and truing the plate is np problem, but will it take the motor rpm? Need an answer fairly quick, would like to finish this project by next Friday 11-10-06. Thanks.

I am getting ready to repaint my plane jane white front room. I have a couple of colors in mind but can't decide which technique (ragging, sponging, etc.) to use and which color to put on top. I can't quite visualize it and don't have a lot of money to just by thing to sample. I know I am going to use a light lavender (already have) and have planned on using a metallic silver (don't have yet). I bought a virtual program called virtual painter that I can use a picture of my front room and color the walls and accents but it doesn't let u use more than one color. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm afraid that the silver over the lavender will be to dark but that the lavender over the silver will be to lavender. I have burgundy and tan accents in the room. HELP?

My dau just got a fixer-upper and we're redoing the kitchen. It's a blank canvas right now. Since she doesn't have much money (expensive fixes needed!), we would like to invest in decor that will last a few years. Any crystal balls into the decorating future? Thanks for any help you can give!

How can I determine the precise manufacturer and color of wall-to-wall carpeting if I have stamped numbers and letters on the reverse side of an excess piece? I want to order more but the distributor we purchased from is out of business.

Thanks.

I have a pink picture for my living room and thought to compliement it I should paint my walls chocolate Brown. I have a natural wood entertainment center. I don't feel right buying white or dark wood shelves when i have a natural wood entertainment center. I was thinking about glass or silver shelves but I wasn't sure. I don't want my living room to be cluttered with, brown walls, natural wood, dark wood, silver accents, and a pink picture. I would like it simple. I would like my living room colors to be chocolate brown, pink and silver but it's not that easy. does anyone have any ideas?
