I am restoring a home built in 1882 that has amazing wood trims and panels with about 20 coats of paint on them. The most recent coat of paint is only a few years old, but the layers underneath are much older and most likely contain lead. Is there a safe way to remove the paint if I can do it outdoors?

I was wondering if you can apply new wallpaper over old wall paper...really old wallpaper. I dont know anything about wallpapering and I just bought a house that has wallpaper in the stair well that leads to the second floor. I can see it from my living room and I want to put something fresh up.

Do any companies make conversion kits for 3 1/2 full round nailers. From regular to Positive Placement. I don’t want to destroy my current nail gun but I was just thinking.

I am asking for some help putting up a pros/cons list of hardwood x carpet (wall-to-wall). What should be taken into consideration:

1. I have 2 kids: an active 3 y.o. and a 9 m.o. that is learning to walk (lots of falls);

2. The cost is comparable, given that the carpet (cheaper) will be installed by professionals but the hardwood (pricier) will be installed by my husband & father-in-law.

I guess my question concerns factors such as: inconvenience, time for installation, warranty, ease of cleaning, ease of maintenance, and other factors I am sure I am overlooking.

I thank you in advance for your help.
