yes if you plan to grout the tile and if you 're not how are you going to join the tile. you should leave minum of 1/8 inch space. they have spacers you can use to make the space and keep it running the same. they are very inexpensive and they are well worth the couple bucks they cost.

yes....its ur call on the amount....we mostly ask our installers to go between 1/8 - 1/4 inch.unless homeowner ask for more.....make it to large and the grout tends to move and crack..
