emulsion - A suspension of small globules of one liquid in a second liquid with which the first will not mix. A photosensitive (light sensitive) material which consists of a coating of silver halide grains in a gelatin layer, on photographic metal plates (for a daguerreotype), glass plates, film, fabric, paper, or other surfaces. ohh gloss makes me so mad i hate it glosss is for things like doors and radiaters et.. it is so much thicker and emulsion is sweet i dont mind emulsion thats for walls etc.. it comes off your clothes and hands easier and the fumes dont kill you when your painting with it

emulsion is to paint walls ceilings etc. it gives a matt finish.
gloss is for skirting boards and window/door frames to give a shiny glossy finish. it also helps protect wood from damp and is pretty much wipe clean. it is also non washable from your clothes!!!!!!!

emulsion is water based it can be removed from clothing easily .it does not give off fumes safer to use as from a fire point of view and emusion dries much faster
gloss is oil based takes longer to dry and can catch fire more easily and can give off fumes
