No way, just don't clutter the mantle with stuff and make sure it will look balanced in respect to the width of your fireplace. It might look cool if you framed a 1 1/2 inch square of black paint around the rectangle the t.v. to outline it.

I think that the manufacturer is PANASONIC and they have one that, when turned OFF, it becomes a mirror. It was really cool and you would never know that it was a flat sreen.
