I have a pink picture for my living room and thought to compliement it I should paint my walls chocolate Brown. I have a natural wood entertainment center. I don't feel right buying white or dark wood shelves when i have a natural wood entertainment center. I was thinking about glass or silver shelves but I wasn't sure. I don't want my living room to be cluttered with, brown walls, natural wood, dark wood, silver accents, and a pink picture. I would like it simple. I would like my living room colors to be chocolate brown, pink and silver but it's not that easy. does anyone have any ideas?

your walls need to be at least 2 shades lighter than the frame on your pink print - as for bringing some silver into the room if your entertainment center has cupboard doors on it or anything try getting some silver door handles for starters then maybe for your shelves you could find natural wood ones with some silver accenting - you don't want to use a lot of silver because it will over power your room - with the picture you need to come up with some complementary colors to accent with - pick out 2 or 3 of the other colors in your print and use those as your accent colors - try to find some nice accessories in those colors - maybe some florals - and greenery always works. The 4 elements to a well decorated room are your wall art (which you would have with your picture - and could maybe add to with a mirror - a mirror works anywhere because it just reflects the theme you already have in your room), greeneries/florals (use your accent colors!), signature accessories (candlesticks or something that you collect that will fit into your motif), and ambience - you should have at least 3 sources of indirect lighting in your room which you could get by obtaining a nice accent lamp or some candles - if you'd like more help just contact me!

I would do your walls a nice mocha colour and have pink as your accent colour i.e your picture, cushions and candles. And remember with furniture less is more, Why don't you get nice wood flooring to match your entertainment unit so it all ties in. I actually prefer dark wood as it looks classy but work with what you have got. Chrome or silver would give it a contemporary look. Good Luck.

I do not know if you are joking or not.. but JUST in case you are NOT joking..

a) I would not build anything around a PINK picture
b) Chocolate walls sounds really gross.. what are you tryoing to do? The walls should be warm... soft.. not HARSH as a chocolate brown that you will get tirred of in short time.. PAINT the walls a light beige(cracked wheat beige) and make the walls a satin finish(water based paints of course) and be bold.. paint the ceiling a flat color.. the same color as the walls.. the walls to be satin finish and the ceiling to be a flat color.. that would look MODERN.... that PINK picture.... UGGHH!! keep it if you want but DO NOT make decisions on colors, etc around a picture. that just is not kool !!!

the wall has to be lighter than the color of the frame of the picture and the wood furnishings.. silver??? bad idea ,, it is way to hard brass and bronze may blend fairer that silver. .. So we have tan beige, pink, and bronze.. if you need chocolate, throw a Hershey onto the coffee table, use it sparingly in the trim on the walls, put it into the furniture, but not on the walls,Plz..

The picture is beautiful. I like that darker color, up by the top of the picture. I think that would look great on the walls. And maybe have your selves the same color as the figures in the picture. Darker colors will bring out your woodwork (as long as they aren't close in color) more than lighter colors will. Check out this website for great decorating ideas:

Browns are quite in. I have a mattress room in a espresso with cream colour and that i in basic terms bought an SUV in a colour referred to as graphite it really is amazingly cool. i became interior an same boat (too a lot white), the great aspect about a cappuccino colour is that it is going quite nicely with creams, tans, and so on. The adorning shows and the garments developments are including a splash of turqoise(sp?) chuffed portray!!
