Hi, now that I'm finally going to be free to live a civilian life, me and my girl and moving in together, near her family in Minnesota, that's her dream, so we'll move there.

My problem, is that I'm going to miss warm weather, and my lovely ocean, so to keep myself sane year round, we're making a tropical room, where I'll put a TV and some game systems and stuff, to calm my nerves during those miserable winters.

I was wondering if anybody had any good ideas for colors, things to use for a full-blown tropical feel. I'm thinking Wicker wood furniture, but what else??

The addition would be a two story add-on to the main house. Living space on the first floor and two bedrooms on the second. I am looking for a reliable gauge of the average cost per square foot . Fixtures, windows and flooring wood be moderate - not cheap and not luxury.

We are fixing up our house to sell and wanted to know what are the great highlights that make the value of the house go up. We have repainted and put up crown molding in some rooms. Will things like light fixtures and new appliances really make a difference? Any suggestions?

My fiance and I are moving after we are married. We did our registry according to color but we want some Celtic accents to tie them all together, you know, pretty knotwork, etc, but we don't want to spend a lot of money for specialty or imported items.

I want to add my attic and basement to the overall square footage of my house when I list it for sell. What is required to make an attic listed as a bedroom and a basement listed as a den? Can I just list them as that or do I have to remodel something?

I moved into my house about a year ago. I've been busy decorating the rest of the house and haven't done my bedroom.

Yesterday I purchased some bedroom furniture. It's black but kinda antiquey looking.

Any suggestions on the color or colors I should paint my room. I really like dark colors but since I bought black furniture, should I go with a light color?

I'm 25, so nothing too immature.

what is the advantage and disadvantage of a house that has vinyl floor in every room ? I am thinking of changing the carpet in my house into vinyl because carpet seems making me sneeze a lot.
I prefer changing it into wood or tile actually, but I heard wood and tile are expensive, breaks easily.
thanks

We have a tile entry that leads to carpeted stairs. To the left is a pool table room and to the right is a family room. My husband dislikes carpet and wants wood floors in the rooms to the right and left of the tile entry. Wow...so many different floorings. Is that tooooo much visually?

My 3 best:
A quilt rack shelf that I painted black. It is the centerpiece for my living room wall with all my french poster art.

A large Bissell Shampoo Vaccum. I gave it the lady who cleans my office who is starting her own cleaning company. She was thrilled.

2 very comfy lawn chairs!

I don't make it a habit of combing the curbs, nor am I a hobo :) FYI :)

It is cracked on only one wall (kitchen) but on that wall the paint is severly cracked all over that wall. what boggles my mind is the fact that the same new white paint was used to paint over the same old paint underneath.

I live in a very small apartment and need to repaint my walls. What colors will match nice with my bedding, and flow through the hallway and kitchen yet not make the place look small. I want the ceiling, trim, windows, and doors painted white.

My 2 almost 3 year old girl is so scared of her bedroom!! I can't figure it out. She has the cutest little white bed painted with purple and pink flowers, a little purple and pink kitchen set, a little white table with purple and pink flowers on it, a soft fuzzy white rug, a soft fuzzy yellow rug, light yellow sheer drapes, a full-lenght mirror that she just loves, white shelves with all her books on it and a little lamp, fake purple flowers, her changing table that's really a desk painted white, and white walls with pretty little things hung on them. Her closet doors are dark brown. We can't paint this place, but are buying a place of our own and I need some good suggestions please!! (she WON'T sleep in there and always wakes up crying at night saying it's scary).
