I have tried Oxy products but they don't seem to work. The carpet cleaner guy was able to get some of them out, but they are now yellow in color. Any suggestions?

I put a bunch of tape on my counter to try and keep my cat off and it stayed up there for a week or so and when I tried to pull the tape off a bunch of the crap stayed on there. I've tried using a razor blade but that isn't really working.. Any ideas (home remedies first) on how to get the stuff off?
