I put a bunch of tape on my counter to try and keep my cat off and it stayed up there for a week or so and when I tried to pull the tape off a bunch of the crap stayed on there. I've tried using a razor blade but that isn't really working.. Any ideas (home remedies first) on how to get the stuff off?

Goo gone is a good product. Also WD40 is good for getting tape off counters I use WD40 all the time when cleaning offices and getting tape off counter tops. I spray the WD40 on a cleaning towel then apply.

Paint thinner or mineral spirits. Dab some on a plain white towel or piece of sheeting. It should dissolve the glue, then make sure you rinse the counter top very well. This is strong and flammable so be very careful and don't leave the can open or sitting around.

Rub paper towel that has been squirted with lighter fluid over the gunk, then wipe with a clean paper towel with straight dishwashing liquid on it (to get rid of the lighter fluid smell).

Does tape on the counter really keep the cats off?

saturate the area in windex, let sit for a minute and scrape off with a straight razor blade.

Or use Goo Gone, Goof-Off, something like that.

get it wet, saturate it ,let it soak then scrap it off with the blade... goo gone works real well too but that stuff smells terrible,,, wear rubber gloves, it will kill your manicure..

Use "GooGone" or "Goof Off". If the counter top is plastic of vinyl, don't use either. It will damage the finish.
