There are 7 people here, mostly children & I cannot seem to keep up with the laundry!!

Any suggestions?

They are 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13. I tried having each that was old enough do their own laundry, but that soon fizzled. They agreed that they wanted to, but then they let it get so FAR behind that they had only the same outfit everyday to wear & then some were putting wet things in there, & ruining everyone else's clothes...how can I get a handle on all of this? It's the same with their chores, they don't do it & if there's a mess, they say, well, I didn't do it!

Any suggestions? It's all I can do to keep a handle on the house!

Thanks!

I have a flat top electric range - just bought it... then my husband cooked pasta - it boiled over. Big ol' nasty white stain on the black cook top - AGGGHHH!!
The stuff they sell to clean it did nothing to take it off. One of my friends suggested this powdered cleaner called Bar Keeper's Friend. If anyone has a flat top range - get it! It gets the marks & stains off easily & doesn't scratch anything.
It also takes rust stains & grease spots off of ceramic & glass cookware - you know - those nasty brown stains that make the pans look old & embarassing?
Anyway - I don't work for Bar Keeper's Friend or anything like that - just wanted to know if anyone else has ever used it cuz it rocks!

Which is better, Bissell or Hoover? My carpets are dirty and I only have carpet in 2 rooms in my house and I am not sure which machine will do the best job for occasional use. Help.

My carpet is AWFUL.

Even the big, top of the line cleaning machines won't get out the dirt, stains, and ground in stuff in my carpet.

I cannot recarpet it, I am 15 and my parents won't let me.

What takes staind out? And what about dirt? Except for where furniture used tobe the carpet has gone from white to a lightl dirty beige.

Any help will be wonderful, I can try anything, thank you.

My son spit up a bunch of formula all over my olive green twill couch. I used Woolite Oxy Deep (carpet cleaner that is usually AMAZING) on it and now the area I spray is significantly lighter than the rest. When I was rubbing the stain, no green dye came off on my rag, so I don't think the color is actually out of the furniture, but it looks hideous. Any suggestions?

Do you think it is worth the time, trouble and inconvenience to have a yard sale?

Okay here's the situation. Went on vacation two weeks ago. Left my doggie at a kennel, where they gave her a bath on her last day there. I brought her home, she was nice and fluffy. Today I gave her another bath, and noticed she was COVERED in fleas. Totally my fault for not keeping up with her flea medications while sending her to a kennel.

Anyway I freaked out and washed everything she's been in contact with: i.e., her bedding, dog pillow, the towels I used to dry her off, etc. I washed them TWICE, in hot water with detergent and bleach. What I want to know is do you think they died in the washer? Are they hardy enough to infest any of my towels or clothes that I wash afterward? I know, stupid question, but oh well.

P.S. I vacuumed the entire house and applied her flea meds immediately after her bath; I'm specifically wondering about the washing machine.

I washed a load of laundry with a dress that ran all over everything. Now anything that had ANY white in it is pink. I've since washed the clothes with hot water and tide w/ oxyclean. They are still pink. What can I do?

Im in college, and just moved into a new house with some roomates.
The only windows are found in the bedrooms, and the front hallway and living room always feel stuffy and smelly, even though I try to keep the area clean.
What can I do to help air it out and make it smell better? Keep in mind that there aren't any windows around there.

I have a Glade plug in but that only makes everything smell more funky.
