A broom with rubber bristles.

I've never actually owned one of these but my ex's mom had one and it seemed to pick up cat hair pretty well.

I'm thinking linens and things or bed bath and beyond might sell them.

Well it might be worth trying to sell the hoover you have , and buy a nice Dyson animal, They are great hoover´s for people with pet´s , and they come with the attachments for floors & carpets Easy washable filtter, bagless. You would be saving yourself a lot of hard work ,if you had a Dyson

Hello Dawn. The best way to clean dog hair off carpet, is to use a damp sponge and rub the carpet in the direction of the pile to the edge.It is a mucky job, and you have to get on your hands and knees to do it. But your vacuum should do a carpet as well, shouldn't it?

Trade in your old vacuum for one with attachments.. It doesn't have to be a dyson...Something that works for you... I have a HOOVER SAVVY and it's great. It has attachements and different floor settings.. I've had it for 4 yrs.. However, no matter what kind of vacuum you have DO take it in for service at least once a year...Good luck
