i recently bought a bath mat as someone told me it would get rid of the mold, but now theres mold on the math mat aswell, and i have tried cleaning, its not coming off?
why does it happen and how to get rid of?

fairly high concentration bleach water or deck cleaner will kill it back.. scrub everything that you can.. trash the rest.

Bleach will not kill mold. It bleaches it. Then it comes back. Mold has long roots that go below the surface. Unless you really scrub, bleach, scrub again it will come back. And if the conditions exists that caused it in the first place still remain, new mold will come appear. Mold has to eat, soap scum, or paper or wood, and needs to drink water. Without those things it won't survive. So get rid of it with the scrubbing, bleaching and then dry the area after each use as quickly as possible. Keep the baby away from the fumes of the bleach, cleaning and existing mold. good luck!

Tilex or bleach. They kill everything. You may have mold growing in the walls. Check for cracks and small holes where mold can hide. Also, when you get out of the shower, open a window and hang your rug on the towel rack to let it dry properly. You may have to call in a professional (or your landlord will if you rent) to completely redo the bathroom. I lived in a crappy downtown apartment for 7 years with the same problem. I was prone to lung infections and developed walking pneumonia. Mold is very bad for your health as I'm sure you know. You should address this issue immediately. If you rent and the landlord won't fix, then you should consider moving.

Bleach is really the only thing that will kill mold.
Use a strong solution of 3/4 bleach to 1/4 water.Spray on and let sit before wiping.
You definetly need more air circulation in your bathroom. It's too humid in there.
Give your shower curtain a good laundering after bleaching.( yes,you can wash a plastic shower curtain in the washer on delicate setting.)
You've got to get rid of the moisture.Running an exhaust fan, opening a window or using a reg fan while showering.
Hope this helps.

A guest bathroom that is rarely used has started getting mold on the tub floor and tub walls. It is NOT in the grout or on the tile that surrounds the tub. Just started in last 6 months (house is 36 years old). I can t get the stains completely up or stop the mold from returning. Since it is rarely used it does not get moist very often. What do I do?

You need more airflow to dry the place out before the mold can set itself up. If you can't open a window, you might have a fan that sucks the air out of the room.

No questions Bleach and drying it out is the only solution! I agree about the breathing issues too! Handle this quickly!
