Cleaning & Laundry - February 2007

I feel stupid asking this but I had a party this weekend and one of the people attending woke up in the middle of the night and urinated on my recliner in his sleep. The next morning I went to the store and purchased upholstry cleaner and saturated the entire recliner with it. There is no smell now but I'm afraid that the chair is disgusting and I'm grossed out to sit on it. I would just say the hell with it and throw it out but it is my friend's (also my landlord) and getting rid of it is definetly not an option. Would you say its clean enough and I shouldn't be disgusted or is there something else I should be doing?? Thanks in advance for any advice :)

I would like to know the optimum time-frame in which mens suits should be dry cleaned. So from having a freshly-cleaned suit to returning it again:

- How many times should I wear it?
- What 'condition' should it be in before being returned?

As it happens, I have a large collection of suits, and it's proving quite costly to maintain them all continously! So I don't want to be taking them down to be dry cleaned unnecessarily.

I'm trying to strike a good cyclic balance - keeping them in constant pristine condition; but without unnecessary visits to the dry cleaners.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

A lot of it spilled. The area is about 2 by 2 feet of red carpet.

Thanks

Here's my problem. My wife has long hair that gets tangled in the roller of a vacuum and it ends up destroying the vacuum motor. Do they make rollerless vacuums? What is a name brand and where can i get one please?

I used this to put up Christmas decorations, and just cannot shift it. I've tried nail varnish remover - no good.
Thanks. Ann

Well, there are many piegeons around my house and everyday they come, they sit and enjoy. Now the trouble is I end up cleaning their poo in my balcony. Trust me, they just stick on to the floor and you have to really scrub hard to get it off.
I do not want to hurt them, But please, please let me know if there is a harmless way of discouraging them from entering my balcony.
I do not want to spend money on putting mesh and it does not have aesthetic value. In fact it reduces the light into the living room.
If you know or have any innovative ideas, I would be really thankful.

I just washed some clothing, and I think I may have added a bit too much liquid fabric softener (normally i don't put too much, but this time i followed the label). Now my clothes, particularly my school uniform, seem to be too soft. Is there anyway to make them a bit more stiff, or will this just happen over time?

makes an awful grinding sound during the spin cycle. Also, clothes are still wet after spinning. Time for a new washer?

I work out at the gym, and I wear a white wife beater because I sweat, and I hate wearing t-shirts. However, after a while, under arm stains appear and I tried bleaching them, but it doesn't work. Is there anything else I can do?
