use a piece of ice to harden the gum then pull it off , then pour some lestoil over whats left and comb it out with an old toothbrush

Use a bag of ice. Let it set on there and freeze it. Then pull up what you can. Should be most of it. Then, if there are any little particles left, I'v use my scissors very carefully to snip just the top part off and you can't see it.
