Bleach can be REALLY bad for your skin. When I moved into my boyfriend's apartment, his bathtub was disgusting (in my opinion). We bought some Tilex Soap Scum spray, I sprayed it on and used a scrubbie sponge (I think I used one of those green scour pads) and it looks brand-new. There were a few hard-to-reach spaces, so I used the Magic Eraser there. The Eraser did do a great job, but I didn't feel like it had actually been cleaned, just kind of wiped off, which is why I chose to do most of the tub with the spray and sponge.
Good luck!

Well look in your purse and get out your outdated credit card and go to the store and buy a can of scrubbin bubbles foam bathroom cleaner.Go home and spray the tub with the cleaner and then take the credit card and swipe back and forth down through the scum until you do the entire bathtub, and yes it will be really gross to see all the scum you are gettting off the tub, but when you see the results you will think you have a brand new tub.I learned this from working in a hotel business, that's what they taught the chambermaids to do.Good Luck!

Hello,
I am very sensitive to chemicals and bleach . . . so this is eco-friendly solution I just use denture cleaner/alka selzer, white vinegar, baking soda (bleach optional):
For REMOVING SOAP SCUM and GRIME:
1. For initial clean, get some baking soda and rub around bath with a sponge. The baking soda acts like a very mild abrasive/polish.
2. Spray vinegar onto baking soda . . . it will fizz and you can just wash away with warm water (can be 1/2 water 1/2 white vinegar or 100% white vinegar depending on how clean you want it)
For the SPARKLE:
- This works like a miracle to get your bath sparkling . . . just fill the tub with warm water and add a few tablets of denture cleaner and alka selzer into the tub.
You can mix some bleach with the white vinegar if you want (1/3 water, 1/3 bleach, 1/3 white vinegar)
To CLEAN GRIME from GROUT:
- Make a paste of baking soda and bleach, and then paste it onto the dirty grout using and old toothbrush . . . rinse off and works like a charm!
Hope this helps!

Depending on the suface of your tub, it may Never look clean enough. Our tub isn't coated and always looks dingy. And I clean the you know what out of it. Try using a Mr Clean Magic Eraser though, they are the best best. And you can use those things everywhere else too. And they are pretty cheap, not as toxic as bleach ect. If it still bugs you and its just not clean, you might want to have someone look into resurfacing the tub for you, it's cheap and it ill stay clean after that if you keep on it.

I like scrubbin bubbles brand aerosol tub cleaner. You spray it on, give it a minute and wipe clean. I rinse it well but I don't think you have too. My husband worked construction for years and this always got the tub and shower nice and clean. If the smell of cleaners bother you, try using baking soda and lemon juice made into a paste with a scrub brush. Rinse well.

One thing that works well is Soft Scrub. Use a green scratchy pad and rub the Soft Scrub all over the bathtub. Let it set over night, the next morning rinse off well. NEVER, NEVER mix any chemical together, especially bleach

I like to go to the nearest janitorial supply store. I always get the shower cleaner there. They have this great concentrated stuff that you mix as much water you want it for each different batch. It's like acid. It works like a charm! I love the stuff.
This is what I use http://www.cleanreport.com/new_detail.cfm?item=44%2D132 It's called showers and stuff. You can read some testimonials on this page as well.

The only cleaning agent I use is bleach. It's the best disinfectant and it gets rid of stains easily...and, it's cheap. Get one of those sponges with a textured rough side. You that to scrub out the grime and use the softer side to get rid of dirt, residue and the bleach. I always have a nice white tub when I do this.

Liquid Nitrogen. Works great on floors too. Just remember to wear heavy duty gloves and anti-splash goggles and not splash it on yourself. Just aim and splash the liquid along the route you want to clean on the wall or floor, let the Liquid Nitrogen flow along - and watch it evaporate into thin air by the time it reaches the end of the route. Then all you have to do is dust up the residue at the far end that is left over.
