Saddel soap works wonders! It cleans leather beautifully and also conditions at the same time. If you have trouble finding it(which you shouldn't go to a shoe repair or shoe store. They willl have it.

It's a two step process. First you clean and then condition. Avoid products that try to make it a one step process. Look for those that come with two bottles.

To clean, never use a product with petroleum products or alcohol. Don't use caustic household cleaners. Also Mink Oil tends to darken the leather. A homemade gentle cleaner of 2 Tbs soap flakes in a quart of warm water with a dash of olive oil will do. Don't use animal base oil as it stinks later. Wash with a soft brush or soft white cloth. Rinse well after it is clean.

After the leather is dry (you can use a hair dryer set on low) treat with the conditioner.
