I used this to put up Christmas decorations, and just cannot shift it. I've tried nail varnish remover - no good.
Thanks. Ann

Have you tried using a good old-fashioner pencil eraser? Rub in one direction only and try not to spread the sticky stuff further, with a bit of perseverance you should end up with a little ball of sticky which you can simply pull off.

Good luck!

Oh, just a thought, if that doesn't work Lakeland (www.lakeland.co.uk) used to make a product called, would you believe it, "Sticky Stuff Remover"! It's amazing, and works on a huge range of surfaces, it even got tar out of my new carpet in seconds... might be worth a look if the eraser trick doesn't work ; )

I use fingernail polish remover! The kind with acetone in it. I put the remover on a rag and hold it to the glue a while to soften the stuff. I can usually rub all the old adhesive off. It takes some elbow grease, but it's cheap and effective.

Best way I have found is to spray the sticky gunk with Pledge/Mr Sheen and allow it to soak in for a while (20 - 30 mins) then wipe off the residue and repeat the process!

As suggested by two people above, Sticky Stuff Remover, is brilliant. I used it to remove terrible marks on kitchen units left by packing tape used as masking tape. It is much quicker than any other method. It smells lovely too. Good luck :)

Orange oil - either bought or from orange peel works really well, smells nice and isn't a harsh chemical (it is also the main ingredient in comercial "sticky stuff remover")

You're taking the wrong approach. Try using an oil based solvent. It'll work like a champ.

How about a degreaser like dawn dish detergent. I would be really careful, as not to change the color of the wood.
Goof off, takes the adhesive straight off, but I would test it on another spot on the back first!

Try baby oil on a pice of tissue of cotton wool. I am a fan of How Clean is your house, ad they always use that for sticky messes!!
