I'm guessing they dry clothes faster, but how much more do they cost than electric ones? Is my gas bill gonna cost a lot more?

I have an electric dryer-only a couple years old- and the warranty is out. It turns on, runs the full length cycle, spins, and I can feel the air coming thru the back vent. Its hot when I open the dryer door. The clothes wont dry though-still wet after 3-4 cycles. I already have the back dryer panel off (breaker is off) and there doesnt seem to be any blockage, the filter is clean. The wires look okay-they dont look blown or burnt out. I can fix a lot of other things in the house (water heater elements, garbage disposals) and I want to learn how to fix it for the future- so please dont comment to call someone. I need someone to explain what areas to check in a simple format- where to look, what to buy and maybe how to change it. I would greatly appreciate it- today is my only day off!

Solve an argument with hubby for me. LOL

We have a whirlpool duet washer and dryer. My hubby puts things on medium heat and shrinks them.

I put them on low and because it has a heat sensor, if you don't get them dry the first time you run a 2nd cycle and it will stop when it's dry.

He says drying it twice on low will shink just as much as drying once on hot.

Who is right? :)

Its running & air is going thru the back vent but my clothes are still wet after 3-4 cycles. Im usually pretty good at fixing things- I just dont want to start taking my dryer apart if its something simple. Also...the filter is clean as a whistle. Can you help me??

I was shocked to find an entire load of wash stained with the ink from a pen that mysteriously jumped into the dryer, (no one left it in their pocket, yea right) My concern is the inside of the dryer has blue ink covering the drum and I am afraid this will trasfer to the next load.

So many people use baby wipes on their leather sofas, but many of you have said that its "bad" for your sofa. Why? what are the reasons behind it.
ALSO, how can you condition your leather sofa other than going and buying a conditioner? any natural products someone can recommend??
