FYI, unlike many other people, I always clean it before AND after washing my clothes.

My question was about "loading" your clothes into the dryer, and I guess I erroneously thought that it was to be taken literally

Chuck your clothes in, then de-lint, then go for it.... literally speaking.
There is just no accountability for public signage these days!

I sparkling/verify my lint capture capture after each load. there is often sufficient for me to pull my palms around the exhibit screen and get a small volume. i'm a sprint OCD whilst it comprises the dryer. After having a dryer bypass up in flames because of a affliction, I verify each thing two times.

If you clean it whilst the machine is running the lint of the moment gets inside the machine. Eventually, if everyone one does this it does not take long to ruin a dryer.

The lint makes the dryer take longer.

The lint is a fire hazard.

The lint may have other peoples lice or cooties in it.

As a courtesy, you should clean it after as well.

THE MAIN REASON IS THAT IN ORDER FOR U TO TURN THE LINT TRY IS RIGHT NEST TO IT. YOUR SYSTEM WILL WORK BECAUSE WHEN MY LOAD IS DONE I JUST TAKE THE CLOTHER OUT AND FOLD. THE MANUFACTOR HAS TO PUT THAT ON BECAUSE OF PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT CRUISE CONTROL MEANS U CAN GET OUT OF THE SEAT WHILE A CAR IS DRIVING. SOME PEOPLE U HAVE TO LEAD BY THE HAND, U KNOW NO COMMON KNOWLEDGE.

They tell you to clean it before loading the clothes to make sure that it is emptied before starting the load. Its best not to assume that someone else cleaned it AFTER themselves. If if they did, then a quick peek before the loan never hurt anyone. :D And now we know! Take care! ~TM
