Depends on the purpose. Passing a drug test. Average urine screen for pre employment and probation measures a billionth of a gram of marijuana per a milliliter of urine. If you don't smoke much, the key is to get that level down to the appropriate level accepted in general society guidlines determined by the institute on drug abuse, NIDA. Drinking too much water can dilute the urine to the point that there is not enough of your natural substance in the sample. My recommendation is to drink a few hours before a test but not that much not more than several quarts. If you have urinated numerous times up until you have to go and take the test you should be fine. If you smoke you should always try to eat right stay active, take a vitamin daily and drink plenty of fluid including water daily.

No, THC (active ingredient in marijuana) is fat-soluble. That means that it is stored in the body's fat cells, so no matter how much water you drink, a urine test will still be positive for THC for approximately a month after the last time you smoked. There are some products on the market that claim to eliminate THC from the body, but I would be skeptical....

For a drug test I assume ? Absolutely not. THC is not water soluable. It is stored in fat cells. It is stored for months. You can drink a bunch of water quickly and get a diluted sample result, which is neither a pass or fail but will raise suspicion and another test will be ordered. Continued diluted samples will result in a refusal to donate sample.

No; your body has to metabolize the THC, and water will not do that. If you drink too much water, it IS possible to create water poisoning (no, I'm not kidding), by disrupting the pH balance of your system.
