gas is a cheaper source of energy than electricity, so gas dryers will result in a less expensive monthly energy bill. make sure that you check to see if your home allows for a gas dryer to be installed though. that's usually the determining factor for getting a gas or electric dryer. some people have gas hookups and some don't.

Grew up with electric dryer and range, mom still uses electric. For the last 30 years I have used gas appliances and will never switch back to electric. Gas is much better for cooking more control of heat. Gas dryer is more efficient. We too live in Michigan. You could check with the gas/electric company for your area and ask them which is cheaper.

It won't cost as much as your electric bill will if you start using electric appliances. Gas has always been considered the cheaper fuel.

Electric is the best way to go if you are looking for consistent heat, but gas is the way to go if you either dont have a 220V outlet,or everything else is electric.
