I've been having some building work done, and as a result of the brick dust, there are light surface scratches all over the plastic bath (the builders didn't use a dust sheet). Whilst they aren't especially obvious, they're annoying and I'd like to polish them out if I can. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I just wanted to know how many people have a shoes off house to keep it clean. When did you start being a shoes off person. Do you make your guests take off their shoes in your house? Do you take off your shoes at other peoples homes

I have the bad habit of mixing all my clothes together when I wash them, and sometimes forget to wash new stuff seperately first. A bunch of stuff that was white or pastel is now really grey, and I won't use bleach, so what else might work?

I am renting a room in my home to a single white female roommate. She pays her bills on time and is semi-clean in the common areas but she keeps her room in disarray. You can hardly see the floor in her room because of all the clothes and junk laying around. This, I don't mind since I am not occupying that room but the problem is, her funk is starting to creep to other parts of the house. For example, If I am downstairs, I know when she has the door to her room open because the scent of the room downstairs changes from neutral to drunken wino. The odor is very pungent and it smells like she hiding a drunken homeless person in her room. I want to tell her to clean up her act; that she needs to do something about neutralizing the odor and to do something about that the funk that rushes out of her room when her door is open but I need to think of a tactful way of doing so, I am becoming a very unhappy camper, any suggestions?

I've got some huge curtains - my ceilings are 14ft high and they're in a cream cotton and lined. I can't afford to dry clean them as I think they'll be really expensive but they are very dusty - is there anyway I could dryclean them myself? They are definitely dryclean only and can't be washed or they will shrink.

I have a ring of a lime stain (I'm guessing its lime) around my toliet bowl. I've tried numerous commerical products, but to no avail. Does anyone have a sure-fire way to remove these stains? I've even soaked it overnight in staright bleach, but it's still there! Short of buying a new toliet bowl I need HELP!!

I have rust stains in bath tub and I can't get rid of them. I tried lime away which claims to get rid of rust stains, but it didn't work at all. I need some suggestions. Thanks a bunch.

Our forest green leather sectional sofa is almost 10 years old, and has seen a lot of use, but not abuse. The leather of the seats has a crazed look, as if the green finish has separated from the leather, perhaps.
I would like to restore the sofa leather to look fresher and consistently the same color. I have used mink oil, neat's foot oil, and a leather treatment I got at the shoe store, but nothing's changed other than the leather is a little more supple.

Is my next logical step to find a green shoe or leather dye? The seat cushions are not removable, and I do not want to use something which will rub off on people's clothes as they sit down.

My cat has recently taken up the sport of peeing on my bed and in the process has ruined my expensive duvet. I phoned a dry cleaning place and they will take it, but I have to get the cat urine out first because it would contaminate everything. You can't put a down duvet in the washing machine (basically, can't get it wet), so does anyone know how to get rid of the cat pee without having to buy a new duvet?
