You can buy cheap jewelry cleaning liquid in the jewelry part of the store, it should run around $3. There is also a polishing cloth you can buy for about the same price. Soak it, brush it, rinse with cold water, dry it off, then polish with the cloth and it will look brand new. Takes less than 5 min start to finish too!

My friend that works in a jewelry store recommends Dawn dishwashing liquid. You fill a bowl with warm water and add a few drops of the regular (blue) Dawn. Let it soak for a while and then rinse well with water.

i clean my platinum/diamond ring by soaking it in dishwashing liquid (diluted with water) overnight. the next morning, the ring is bright and sparkly! you can also use a soft bristle toothbrush and lightly scrub with some toothpaste. platinum and diamonds are both extremely hardy. honestly, it's very difficult to damage. just be gentle with the platinum as it can scratch.

I use baking soda to clean my gold and silver rings.
Just wet the baking soda enough to make a paste and I use an old toothbrush to get in all the small areas.

I wouldn't use vinegar. Vodka is a good one for cleaning jewelery, try it.

vinegar will nto do much for it, try regular household ammonia and put in a couple of drops of dish detergent.

vinegar could discolor it. I would get some liquid jewelry cleaner.
