To remove food that has burned and stuck on pots and pans, put water and a fabric softener sheet in the pan and boil the culprit on the stove for a few minutes. Let it sit, and it will wipe out like a charm. The blackness is another story. I like to use the scrubbers that resemble aluminum pads. You know-- they're round-ish and look like curls. They are so much better than the flat, washcloth-like scrub things.

what I do is simple. I just boil some water in the same pot. The food that is stuck to the pot removes as the water gets very hot. You can see the food going to the top of the pot. When safe you can remove food with one of those green sponges using a large spoon to hold it down and removing the food.(scrubbing it of course)

The best thing I found is made by Dawn. All you do is spray it on let it set and then wash as usual. I can't remember the whole name right now. But you will see it over in the dish washing section. I have used it for many things to get stains off of things. It is really great stuff.

You could boil it in vinegar long and and hard, dont let it boil dry, keep adding water, more vinegar. The white vinegar will do; you don't need to waste good apple cider vinegar. Stop and scrub with steel wool awhle; soak it for a day, for overnight, continue the next day. At some point scrub with brillo or something.

If it's not teflon coated, I have actually used oven cleaner when the boiling water and soap or sos pads didn't work. Spray it on and let it sit about an hour. I do that with the stainless steel rings and drip pans from the stove.

Fill the pot with hot water and cascade dishwasher soap and also you could add regular dishsoap too. Let set and then get a green scrubby and it should come right out.

Have you tried Baking soda?
I have used baking soda to clean scorched pans and have cleaned them rather well...
First heat the pan with some water covering the mess and then sprinkle in baking soda and watch it all fizz away... this is also good to remove years of tastes that have compiled in the grain of your pots... Hope this helps

I have always had success with boiling water with baking soda added. Boil hard for a while then let cool. Wash in normal way and repeat if neccessary.
