How do I get blood out of my white carpet? I broke a glass, and I thought I had it all cleaned up, but I missed a piece and cut my foot. And got blood on the carpet. How can I get it out?

We saw a recipe for getting rid of mildew stains, but can only remember that it called for lemon and baking soda - there was at least a third ingredient - anyone know what it is or another way to get the stains off this bookbag? I'm throwing it out if we can't get them off.

I want to just be able to hoover up small bits of dust & stuff, and those little re-chargeable hoovers look really handy. I know some fit into a holster thing, that looks sensible. Or maybe that's not necessary. I don't need to hoover up liquids.

I don't like buying this kind of thing, so am intending to spend quite some time researching before I invest.

Any tips gratefully accepted!

I did a little art project in the bathroom and ended up with acrylic paint splatters on the tub. Is there any way I can remove them, or do I have to chip them off one by one with my fingernail? (They do come off this way but it takes forever!)

I'd like to go with The Maids or Merry Maids because they are large companies that have good reputations and are fully bonded and insured. Has anyone ever used either or both? I know they are priced comparably. Good experiences? Bad experiences?

the walls mildew. We've tried painting with that Kiltz stuff to prevent the mildew but it keeps coming back. Is there any effective way to make it go away without tearing the walls out and doing other stuff to the house. Is there anyway to clean it to make it go away?

I've always put the laundry in the washer, put the soap in, then turned the machine on...

I moved in with my boyfriend and his family, and his mom is telling me that I have to turn the washer on, put the soap in, THEN the laundry.........

Which is the correct way?

I have expensive dress shirts for work and I normally only wash them every two weeks because they don't get dirty that much.

I've noticed in the past my shirts seem worn out when using the wash and dryer, I used cold water and Tide Cold Water detergent.

-Should I dry clean?
-Should I was my dress cloths separatly or with all of my other cloths?
-What detergent is best? I've seen Arm and Hammer Delicare

Just got a brand new Frigidaire front loading washer (I had a top loading one before), and still have a huge container of regular detergent. Can I use it up before I buy the HE detergent? Will this ruin the machine? What's the reason for the HE detergent anyway?

just was wondering what was better to clean with, the swifter mop, or the stringy mop we are all used to?

Okay, don't get me wrong - I DO clean ;-) I just have a heck of a time sticking with it & not feeling like I'm being tortured while I do it. I do play upbeat music....have tried timing myself by the song, i.e. getting certain tasks done before a song is over...but none of it is working today. I NEED to get the house clean but I don't wanna. I know I'm going to have to turn this PC off for one thing ;-)
Anyway, any constructive ideas would be much appreciated!!!

I recently washed my white bag which has tiny metal rings sewed on it with a detergent. After drying it I saw rust stains surrounding the metal rings. It's very obvious as my bag is white in colour. I really like that bag and I can't use it until I remove the stains. What should I do?
