I store garlic bread all the time in my freezer and don't have that problem, but I keep a box of open baking soda in the freezer as well as the fridge, next time make sure your bags are sealed good before you put anything in the freezer

First you have find a back up to store food and then air out your freezer, also keep an odor absorbent material (baking soda) in there too.

I store many foods with pungent/strong odors (garlic & peppers) and have not had this happen. Did you not use a sealed bag?

I always use a box of baking soda in the freezer and the fridge, it helps absorb unwanted scents. You may also want to clean
the freezer out with a vinegar and water solution. This will also help cut the scent.
