Well, if you don't want bugs, rodents or other types of creatures, and if you don't like putrid smelling trash i suggest you empty it at the end of the day. Having trash at home for a long period of time let's say 4 or more days also has some medical effects. whenever something rots or decays in the trash it releases CO carbonoxide gas, which can cause headaches and stuff. and if it's paper and stuff that's different. you should have three trash bags. one for plastic, one for paper, and one for "other". if you do this you'll have to empty the trash less often. and reduce the rist of having rodents and stuff approximatley 37% based on half-life calculations between CO and it's respective subject. anyways i hope i was able to help.

I take things I know will smell like fresh chicken pieces or ground beef and fruit that will draw gnats outside to the trash, then the inside trash can be emptied when it's full.

I like to empty mine every two days. I buy the smaller kitchen size trash bags and so this is possible. I wouldn't want to leave it more than 2 days as the spoilage smells usually begin after this.

I require that the trash be taken out of the house daily, especially the kitchen garbage. Letting trash - especially food related trash- sit overnight creates odors, attracts bugs and allows growth of unhealthy bacteria, mold and fungus. In order to keep things clean, especially the kitchen, all trash should be taken out on a daily basis.

If at home, you should empty it when it gets full. Or when it starts to stink.
At work you should empty it everyday. Keeps your space neat and tidy and you don't have to get upset about your garbage overflowing. Less mess=less stress.

When its full or every other day.... depends on the size of the can really....some people has tiny cans and change daily...some larger....really depends on the contents of the garbage...if there's a lot of food scraps then daily for sure....our town now has 'green bins' and we need to put all food into there....saves on the garbage and smells.....try a composter.....in your yard...

4 times a day. if it smells 24 times a day. if it smells very badly every minute of the day -- or as often as you go to the bathroom--as a rule. that should be the min. barem. good luck in both avenues.
