Do you make your bed in the morning, knowing that you're going to lie in it at night? Do you hang up your clothes, knowing that you're going to wear them again?

I need a new vacuum. I seen the infomercial for Swivel Sweepers. Do they really work? I go through a sweeper every two years. I only live in a 1 bedroom apt, but I have two cats. I need something that picks up hair and litter very well. I know Dyson is great, but I can't afford $500 for a vacuum, more like $150

I have an older light colored wall to wall carpet with many spots and stains. It's a real pain to treat the spots by hand. I've considered renting the "steam cleaners" from the grocery store or purchasing a hand held "carpet extractor". They both work the same way, spraying steaming hot water and detergent into the rug, then vacuuming it up along with the dirt or stain.

If you've used one of these - or both - please give me the benefit of your advice. How well do they clean mud and food spots, how easy are they to use, and how wet do they leave the carpet? Thanks!

I had a GE Potscrubber 680 dishwasher that either needs repaired or replaced, but wondered who out there can recommend a newer dishwasher that they are very happy with, and give me a few ideas of it's make, model, price tag, and features you LIKE that it has. If it makes any difference, I really like the Cascade "with the power of Dawn" little gel cubies for the dishwasher, they seem much better than other soaps and no measuring or mess!

I've noticed that in the past month, my washing machine has started leaving small rust stains on whites. Anything white has specks of rust color that don't seem to come out. Has anyone had this happen? Is this a pipe issue? A washing machine issue? Any suggestions?

My colored clothing may also be getting rust stains, but if they are, those stains aren't as obvious as on white clothing and linens.

Thanks.

I've been washing our clothes in the bathtub since June, but it's too painful of a strain on my back (2 herniated discs) and knees. I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it. I don't have enough money to go to a laundromat (30$ a week), and I don't have a washboard or anything to wring the clothes out. Is there something else that will cut the washing time in half, but still get the clothes clean?
