How to you get Hot Glue out of carpet?

I got Hot Glue on the carpet and it has already started to harden. is there a way to get it off without ruining the carpet?

You might try Goo Gone, or something like it. They tend to dissolve the glue without harming the carpet. I would test a small spot that is not easy to see, first, though. It might discolor the carpet.
