Workmen at our home left some oily sooty marks on pale embossed patterned wallpaper.Please how do I remove these?

Try dry white bread first before using anything that wets the wallpaper. Use it like a scouring pad. That sometimes works, and I have no idea why.

If this damage has been caused by 'workmen' they should be taking the responsibility for their actions. If redecoration is needed, then they should be paying heavily for it.

Make a double-strength solution of TSP or **** and Span and water, apply this heavily to the floor, and let it sit there for several minutes. Then scrub, and take up all liquids with the wet vac.

This will at least clean the brick, but may not remove all the stains, particularly if they are oily. The only way to get oily stains out is to apply paint thinner, then add generous amounts of baking soda to absorb the thinner and the stains.

Finally, if the bricks are reasonably clean, you can seal them with a masonry sealer or tile sealer, which will make the bricks a little more water resistant and therefore stain resistant.

Mr Clean Magic Erasers work awesome for many things. Or try some rubbing alcohol to break down the oil.

A tiny bit of fairy dishwasher on a soft sponge, wipe afterwards with a soft damp cloth. Good luck

Mr. Clean Magic Erasures!!! They work for EVYERHTING! I have cleaned teh grease of the backa dn hood of my oven and stove , I have cleaned baseboards AND I have cleaned greasy fingerprints off walls, doors and refridgeraters with those things. What do they put in those things anyway? :)

If it's oil try Dawn dish washing detergent. It works wonders on grease. Good Luck.!

Try using baby wipes worked for me. Johnsons seem to be the best

get some white bread and rub it over the marks a bit messy but it works

try dawn dishwashing liquid and a sponge.
or if you have cold cream or baby oil to break up the dirt, then use the dawn dishwashing liquid.

the best thing to try is sugar soap parts 50/50 water
