What a pain they are, when they go wrong ;

Needs a new heating element ,
and a Hotpoint fitter to fix it in ,

Sometimes the thermostat fails ,
If this is the case
this may be a cheaper repair .

Washing machines have a heating element??
Check your hot water heater,
check the inlet hose connected to the hot water heater to see if the lint screen is clear....also check the hot water hose screen where it is connected to the back of the washer.
