I had the same problem - going through cheap upright vacuums year after year that just kept breaking down and didn't clean my floors worth anything. So I finally broke down and got a Dyson vacuum with animal hair attachment and it works just as well as they say on TV! It picks up everything on your floors and furniture(including the animal hair) so they look brand new. They are expensive, but they are worth their weight in gold for the time they save you because you don't have to go over and over again to try to pick stuff off the floor. Hope this helps!

Dyson (Animal/ Pet), as the owner of 2 dogs and 3 cats I have never found anything that works as well. They are so worth the money especially when it comes to making sure your house does not smell of animals because hair is trapped in the carpet. And it works great on floors too.

I'd use a static collecting broom instead of a vacuum cleaner. They work great in a large variety of situations & are long lasting. They are made of a semi-hard plastic like rubber. I even got one at the dollar store that is the size for a dust pan & works great on clothes also.

if your first assertion is real, you wiped out the motor. If the opposite, you have not adequate skill to it. A 220V vacuum could desire to be plugged right into a 220V grant or it won't perform wisely. A 120V vacuum could desire to be plugged right into a 120V grant. If plugged right into a 220V grant this is going to burn out quickly order.
