My grandma is a neat freak, my mom is a neat freak, my brother is a neat freak, and so am I. I think you're just born that way, and trust me, it's not always a good thing. That's what most of my fights with my boyfriend are about. As long as your not a slob and you keep things semi neat, I wouldn't worry about it. I think being organized will help you. Just have a place for EVERYTHING and make sure it always goes back there right after it's used. That's the biggest thing.

I am a total neat freak. I have those pre moistened wipes in my bathroom and kitchen and use them atleast three times a day to just do spot cleaning. I use them in the morning to clean around the toilet, sink and tub to just de-germ. I also use them on the floor to pick up lint or hair from me getting ready, even hairspray sticky and makeup can get on the floor and I can not stand stepping in it.
I make my bed when I first get up for two reasons, one I don't want to mess it up after I make it and two it inspires me to clean my room the rest of the way. I leave a dry rag and dry dust four times a week on top of regular dusting.
Its just mainly about doing little things all the time to keep up on the house work and then the days you really clean it doesn't take as long.
Hope this helps, if you need more hints let me know, I have a ton of them.

I grew up in a really nasty house, so now I try to be very clean. I made a list of some of the daily things that need to be done, everyday, sometimes twice a day , like vaccuming, wipping counter tops, and doing dishes, then weekly things like cleaning the toilet, tubs, floor, ect. Then monthly things like dusting the window blinds, cleaning the stove, the down and dirty stuff. I try to then stay with my written out agenda, depending on what your house is like, you make your agenda to match. Like me I have a messy child and husband. Where as you may live alone and only need to do things twice a week. For me organization is about throwing out or giving away the things I am not using any more instead of hanging on to them, Like paper work for last year, or clothes I don't wear anymore.

Its either in you or it isn't usually. I am a neat freak!! I have everything organized. My books and cds are in alphabetical order and I have those tubs and drawers they sell at walmart to help organize things. The main objective is just to stay on top of it all. You can't slack!

There are many web sites that help. I belong to a group on Yahoo called Messes & Hoarding ... so you can see the scope of the problem I started out with. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Messiness-and-Hoarding/ Another good site is http://www.getorganizednow.com/ Small chunks of time doing things seems to be the answer for most of us, once we know where to start.
