Cedar balls..or moth balls.....or dryer sheets.....giving the closet a good clean out is where you should start though. Most people have things in their closets that they dont need....de-clutterize...and get rid of things that you havent worn in a while.....off to charity...where they will be used. Clean out the closet....clean the floor....walls....wash the clothes.... put dryer sheets in shoes...or drawers.... good luck...

yes use cedar wood and also use Damp rid. It takes the dampness out of the closets and that muggy smell out aswell it really does work. GOOD LUCK.

Good old pinsol and some elbow crease will rid that smell then leave it open for 24 hrs. Get some cedar shavings like the ones you put in an animals cage and put the shavings in couple mesh bags and put in closet it works better than cedar blocks by far.

Damp rid makes a hanging bag that collects moisture.
Also leave the door open and point a fan towards the closet

Use Cedar wood - hang it in there - also a dehumidifier will get rid of the dampness and the smell - I know someone who swears by keeping the light on all the time in there which gets rid of the dampness - I disagree.
