My sister called me sobbing a few days ago and told me that the city (with no word or community meeting to discuss the matter) cut down our city's oldest trees (7 in all) they were huge Sycamores , perfectly beautiful and healthy that are 100 years+ old My great-grandparents witnessed these trees being planted years ago, and they were loved by all. Their reason for this is Too many Crows were roosting in the trees and pooping on the sidewalk below!!!! there are many ways to humanely erradicate Crows, which are a problem, but have always been. They also had the money to get rid of the trees but never used it to properly prune them yearly to keep them from growing too tall(crowes like to roost on tall trees) The leaves could have been raked by volunteers which I would have gladly helped out, I think it is just bone lazy that they chose this as their solution, it is too late to save them now, but I want to get input on what could have been done in case they get ideas to Execute more
