A neighbour died 2 years ago leaving his property empty. Trees in his garden where threatening to smash into my greenhouse and other trees blocked out light so my garden was in darkness. I cut down the trees and now a relative is asking my other neighbour who has cut down the trees. My neighbour who died told me he had arranged for the trees to be cut but unfortunately he was too ill to have this happen. I am worried that I will get into trouble. Apart from the threat to my greenhouse and the light issue, these trees masked a dark area around the walls of the two properties which I found to be a security risk because of people hiding in them!

We have just moved into a new house and realised the water in the area is very hard and contains a lot of limescale. Over time this will affect most of our new appliances. We have seen various methods to combat this, including a water softner device that connects to the main water supply, what do people recommend?

I'm trying to remove the nut off a boiler that is kinda BIG so there were no sockets big enough for it. I tried using a vice grip but it wouldn't hold because the nut was in deep and I could only hold it using the tip of the vice grip. I managed to find a wrench that fit but just like the vice grip, i couldn't get a firm grip of the nut. Any advice?

What would we need to do in terms of ventilation and preparing the area that the fireplace will go in? We need to have gas installed in order to do this, so I'd like to make sure that it's feasible before we go to the trouble.

I found a can of paint that seems perfectly good except it has no label at all. The lid is rusty, but the inside is clean. It doesn't smell any stronger than indoor paint.

How can I tell if it's interior or exterior? I want to paint my living room, but I know from reading the other posts that it's not a good idea to use exterior paint.

Thanks.
