Put his head in the toilet till he comes clean about what he flushed. I say he has lost "inside" toilet priveledges for 6 months. Get him a shovel for Christmas. Whats the deal w only 1 toilet? I live alone and I have 3. If one doesn't work I have 2 more hahaha and then reconfigure my diet.

Turn the water off and take all the water out of the bowl. Use a baster.
Take a small mirror and look up into the "S" you should see to the other side. You can hook just about anything out with a coat hanger.

you can stick your arm down there (haha - gross!), or get an 'auger' at a hardware store, basically its a long snake like thing that can snake its way down the pipes to break up any clogs. i dont know if it will retrieve your sons toy (doubt it), but if the toy is just causing a logjam, it might break it free and set it on down the sewage pipeline waterslide.

If plunging doesn't help you will need a closet snake. Sometimes you have to pull the toilet and fish out the object.

you can use a plunger to pull out the object out if it is loose. I pulled out a pen so I know it will work. push the plunger down and make it seal and pull up. it takes practise but should work.
