you see there is a pond and then the water goes though a colvert. the culvert leads to a creek.
i want to clear out the logs and such in the somewhat dried creek and make a dam in the middle of it so me and my friends can swim there. there is a camping spot and i want to get the water ready before summer. how do i make a dam? how do i get the logs out. one just hit me today and i dont want that to happen again.[this creek is completely on our property so dont bring up law stuff]

The easiest way is to divert the water for at least the time being. You will need the help of a backhoe to dig out a hole. Don't try to build up dam walls. That is a big waste of time and effort. The log part is no problem for a backhoe. Perhaps you may find a friend or someone cheap "to do the backhoe work" for around 20 bucks a hour, which is a good deal.

Or, You may want to try digging a hole that is offset from the creek and divert the water over to it. Still need a backhoe I know.

After wards you will have to let it fill up and clear up. That part may take weeks.

good luck

Get a pet beaver and it will automatically make a dam in the best possible spot.

Also when making a dam be very careful, as it can be easy to make the water do things you hadn't intended.... ie. flood your house.

Do you mean that the creek starts AND ends on your property? I'd like to see that. If that's the case, then you have a pond..
